Premier’s Years 9 and 10:

With two wins under their belt, the Year 9 team only had to conquer the Year 10 team to be clear winners of our local zone. The competition was on at GHS last Thursday, with the Year 10 team being narrowly beaten by Tumbi on Tuesday, they were out to prove their worth. The controversial topic “That the Federal Government deserves to be re-elected”, really challenged both teams’ knowledge of politics and current issues, but both teams fought for their respective sides and put on a fine display of clever debating.

Year 10 were the victors due to their intelligent rebuttal, leaving each team in the zone on two wins.  Now we wait for instructions about who debates who, to find the zone winner. Congratulations to both teams, it was a great debate and the Year 7 and 8 debaters certainly benefited from being the audience.
